Care Ministry

Providing support in a variety of life’s situations.

Wondering how you will survive the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas? Are you dreading these holidays, knowing that everything has changed and that happy memories from past years can’t be recreated? Our Surviving the Holidays seminar is especially for people who are grieving a loved one’s death. You’ll learn:

  • How to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays
  • What to do about traditions and other coming changes
  • Helpful tips for surviving social events
  • How to discover hope for your future

It hurts to lose someone. Find help at GriefShare. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. There are 13 sessions, and each one is independent of the others, so if you aren’t able to attend all of them, it’s okay!

Caring for you

Whatever life throws your way, the care ministry team at Lutheran Church of the Cross wants to walk alongside you.  You do not need to face these difficulties alone.  Whether it’s illness, grief, hospitalization, injury, or any of life’s daily challenges, we want to provide care to you.  Email Pastor Tim at tim@lccaltoona.org and allow this team to care for you in your time of need.

Counseling

If you are seeking counseling services, we have a couple options.  First, our pastors (Nathan or Tim) will meet with you in a confidential setting to guide you through your unique situation.

If you prefer, here are a couple other resources we might suggest for you to contact directly:
